What is Flyball?

Flyball is a high-energy relay sport where teams of four dogs race against each other over a 15.5-meter course. Each dog jumps over four hurdles, triggers a spring-loaded box to release a tennis ball, catches it, and races back to their handler. As one dog returns, the next launches forward, aiming for perfect timing at the start line. The first team to finish cleanly—with all four dogs completing the run without errors—wins the round.

Teams can register up to six dogs, allowing for strategic substitutions between heats. Races are precisely timed using electronic sensors that track starts, finishes, and any faults to ensure fair competition. Teams compete within divisions based on their recorded seed times, so each match-up is as close as possible in speed and skill. Victory goes to the team with the most round wins.

Flyball isn’t just about speed—it's about precision, timing, and connection between dogs and their handlers. It’s open to all breeds and sizes, as long as the dog is healthy and active. For many, it’s the perfect outlet to burn energy, build confidence, and strengthen the bond between dog and owner—all while having a blast.
